Architects' Inner Sanctums

This article by the author Mukhtar Husain appeared in the Star Weekend newspaper on 18th November, 2006

What are the specific traits of a "Pakistani" house? Looking closely through more than a hundred houses, small and large, independent or shared units, from Karachi in the South to Peshawar in the North, are there any properties that set these houses apart from, say an Indian house or European house or North American house?
